Datavariation Column

Definition

A Datavariation Column represents a single Test Suite Run or Test Case Run that will be executed with the attribute values and assert values that are shown.

Properties

NameDescription
NameThe Name of the Datavariation Column.
This will be shown throughout the Test Run Result pages to reference which Datavariation Column was executed.
DescriptionThe Description of the Datavariation Column.

Business rules

It is not allowed to delete a Datavariation Column if there is only one.

Actions on Datavariation Column

Execute a single Datavariation Column

  • Navigate to the Test Suite or Test Case Datavariations page.
  • Click on in the column you want to Execute.
  • Click " Execute".
  • MTA will execute the Test Suite or Test Case once, for that single Datavariation Column.

Add a Datavariation Column

  • Navigate to the Test Suite or Test Case Datavariations page.
  • Click on in the column you want to duplicate.
  • Click " Add duplicate".

Delete a Datavariation Column

  • Navigate to the Test Suite or Test Case Datavariations page.
  • Click on in the column you want to delete.
  • Click " Delete".

Edit the Name and Description of a Datavariation Column

  • Navigate to the Test Suite or Test Case Datavariations page.
  • Click on in the column you want to edit.
  • Click " Edit".
  • Change the Name and Description.
  • Save.

Change the order of a Datavariation Column

The left-to-right order of the Datavariation Columns represents the order in which they are executed.

  • Navigate to the Test Suite or Test Case Datavariations page.
  • Click on in the column you want to edit.
  • Click " Shift right" to swap the position with the Datavariation Column on the right, or
  • Click " Shift left" to swap the position with the Datavariation Column on the left.
