Datavariation Column

Definition​

A Datavariation Column represents a single Test Suite Run or Test Case Run that will be executed with the attribute values and assert values that are shown.

Properties​

Name​

The Name of the Datavariation Column.
This will be shown throughout the Test Run Result pages to reference which Datavariation Column was executed.

Description​

The Description of the Datavariation Column.

Business rules​

Actions on Datavariation Column​

Execute a single Datavariation Column​

  • Navigate to the Test Suite or Test Case Datavariations page.
  • Click on in the column you want to Execute.
  • Click Execute.
  • MTA will execute the Test Suite or Test Case once, for that single Datavariation Column.

Add a Datavariation Column​

  • Navigate to the Test Suite or Test Case Datavariations page.
  • Click on in the column you want to duplicate.
  • Click Add duplicate.

Delete a Datavariation Column​

  • Navigate to the Test Suite or Test Case Datavariations page.
  • Click on in the column you want to delete.
  • Click Delete.

Edit the Name and Description of a Datavariation Column​

  • Navigate to the Test Suite or Test Case Datavariations page.
  • Click on in the column you want to edit.
  • Click Edit.
  • Change the Name and Description.
  • Save.

Change the order of a Datavariation Column​

The left-to-right order of the Datavariation Columns represents the order in which they are executed.

  • Navigate to the Test Suite or Test Case Datavariations page.
  • Click on in the column you want to edit.
  • Click Shift right to swap the position with the Datavariation Column on the right, or
  • Click Shift left to swap the position with the Datavariation Column on the left.
