MTA Plugin MCP Server
Definition
The MTA Plugin MCP Server is an MCP Service inside the MTA Plugin.
It is enabled by setting the Constant MtaPluginModule.EnableMcpServer to True.
Agents are authenticated by a bearer token. They need to use the token value that is set in the Constant MtaPluginModule.McpServerAccessToken.
Purpose
The purpose is to enable exploratory testing. The MTA Plugin MCP Server enables any agentic AI assistant to execute a test that is created in-memory rather than stored as a Test Configuration in MTA. You can tell the AI assistant to create a test and execute it for you. The design of the test can temporarily be stored as an "execution plan" or more permanently in a JSON file. Or, you can "promote" the design of the test to a Test Configuration in MTA using the MTA MCP Tools, but this is optional.
In order for the AI assistant to "understand" how the MTA Plugin works, you need to make sure that the MTA Skills are being used. Without these skills, the AI assistant will not be able to use the MCP Tools effectively.
